As we anxiously await the Rise Within Fashion Show on Saturday, April 6th, here is what we know about the Seattle-based Afro-Latina fashion designer, Cin Barron.

Cin Barron, a name we feel you should know, has lived in Seattle for 10 years. Though you would think the weather here would be a setback to her creativity, it was in our interview with Cin from October 2023, that she emphasized just how much of a role the Seattle weather has played in the curation of her fashion empire, CIN BARRON. Originally from San Antonio Texas, Cin brings a romantic Spanish affair to her collections and has said Seattle pushed her into becoming who she is today. You can watch our conversation below.

When it comes to Cin and her brand, expect to see a representation of her heart. Emotions, the overarching theme of our last conversation, are strongly present in her fashion shows. Her most recent show was featured in the 2023 Couture & Cars show (shown above), a fashion showcase of six local designers hosted by Fashion District Northwest. There, we were introduced to the talent that is Cin Barron through her collection: a representation of the sophisticated, elegant, yet sexy individuals we can dare to be. “Growing up, I didn’t see a lot of women embracing their authentic selves through fashion,” she told us. With looks that marry the tenderness of femininity through silks and laces with the edginess of power through sharp lines and suits, Cin brings a flavor to the fashion scene that we haven’t seen anywhere else.

I enjoyed getting to know Cin off-camera, too. She carries a strong, powerful presence yet she’s gentle and welcoming—the ultimate girl’s girl.

…and we can’t wait to see what’s next at her highly anticipated fashion show, “Rise Within” next Saturday, April 6th at South Lake Union’s Astra Hotel.

“Rising within is something I’m so passionate about,” she told us. More than just fashion, the show itself is expected to carry a strong message of what it means to overcome personal battles. “Maybe it’s your upbringing, your mental health, your identity—rising within that. You know, rising within yourself. To shine through all the darkness you may feel within yourself…becoming your best self. Yes, I am a fashion designer and an artist. But I am passionate about people.”
It’s fashion with a cause. The Rise Within show is partnered with the Royal T Foundation, a non-profit organization with the mission to “empower individuals to awaken natural talents by building foundational relationships that encourage socioeconomic growth within our diverse communities” according to their website.

We look forward to a show promising hope, triumph, and elegance unlike anything we have seen in Seattle. See you there!
