Seahawks safety Julian Love shares insight into his personal style, love for tailored suits, and his thoughts on the Seattle fashion scene in the final interview of our three-part series with Nfm Magazine titled '‘The Men Behind the Uniform”.

From his four-year reign with the New York Giants, Julian Love is bringing his all-star swag to the Pacific Northwest this season, and we’re here for it. At the young age of 25, Love has shown us that he’s all about style and class, bringing a custom-made suit by ESQ Clothing, a trusted designer of his for all his milestones and special occasions.
THAT IVY LEAGUE SWAG
If you scroll through Julian Love’s Instagram, you may see some memorable looks that the football star from Notre Dame University has sported through the seasons. Though Notre Dame is not an Ivy League school, Love’s time there certainly has shaped his style, as he explained in the interview, with an Ivy League feel that separates him from the rest of his teammates. Often seen wearing his favorite brands such as Christian Dior, RHONE, Burberry, KITH, and PAIGE, Love also has a love for fresh, clean suits. “I’ve been around a lot of business minds…you know, you get your suits tailored right with the colors popping…I think there’s a certain level of class, a certain level of elegance, a certain level of professionalism that I like to carry with me.”

FASHION AND FOOTBALL
Do they go hand-in-hand? Well, according to Love, they do now more than ever. “Social media has played such a good role because, you know, especially in football—we’re wearing a helmet, we’re not like basketball players, we’re not like these other guys that you can see who they are" he says.
“We have to represent ourselves outside of the helmet”
There has been a spike in football athletes across the nation showcasing their personalities through fashion and style—including our very own Seahawks team, who has also made a statement with their pre-game fits.

SEATTLE VS. NEW YORK
When we asked the famous question, Julian Love let us know that coming from New York to Seattle he and his wife, Julia, were unsure of what to expect. “We weren’t sure what the style out here was gonna be,” he shared. “All we knew of was grunge was a thing.” We laughed—honestly, props to him for remembering this fashion fact that we mustn’t forget! Love shares that in New York, people could wear the craziest pieces and no one would bat an eye. As for Seattle, well, Love surprisingly describes it to be more natural, and people don’t care either, that there is no judgment. An interesting take! “You just kind of rock what you want to rock, and, I like that about Seattle so far.”
