CIN’S RISE WITHIN: Post-Show Exclusive with Cin Barron

Seattle, WA - On Saturday, April 6th, the Astra Hotel became the stage for a remarkable fashion event, showcasing the talent of designer Cin Barron. In a post-show interview with Christy Kioko, Cin shares insights into her emotions, inspirations, and the collaborative efforts that made the event a resounding success.

"How do you feel?" The inevitable question posed to artists after a significant moment. For Cin Barron, this show marked a departure from tradition.

"The first show I didn't cry at," she admitted, revealing a sense of accomplishment and contentment. "I feel supported and content. Everything worked out as expected,"

Cin highlighted the seamless execution that stemmed from meticulous planning and unwavering support.

The collection presented at the show epitomized the theme of "rising within," a motif echoing Cin's personal journey of rebirth and transformation. Drawing inspiration from the Pacific Northwest's moody ambiance and her own transitions, Cin curated a palette that transitioned from darkness to light, symbolizing the journey from struggle to triumph. Fabrics played a pivotal role in this narrative, with leather, chiffon, and silk evoking both rebirth and moodiness, reflecting the designer's multifaceted interpretation of the theme. "The biggest thing is the theme of rebirth and what that means," Cin emphasized. "For me, it's going from a dark place to a light place," she explained, illuminating the deeply personal significance embedded within her creations.

From structured ensembles to relaxed loungewear, each piece spoke to the resilience inherent in the process of self-discovery and reinvention. 

When asked about her favorite looks from the fashion show, Cin lit up with enthusiasm. She couldn't help but gush over Model Anesa's first look, a breathtaking long mermaid slim fitted gown accompanied by a delicate chiffon headwrap and chic sunglasses.

"I would wear that any day," Cin exclaimed, clearly impressed by the ensemble's timeless elegance and undeniable allure.

As for her second favorite, she couldn't contain her excitement about the Jean trench coat paired with white boots and a holographic midi dress. With its blend of edgy denim and ethereal holographic accents, the outfit perfectly encapsulated Cin's innovative approach to fashion.

Acknowledging the invaluable contributions of her partners, Cin expressed gratitude towards Astra Hotel for providing an ideal venue that harmonized with her vision.

"Astra was a key component," she remarked, highlighting the venue's alignment with the show's theme. “I chose Astra because of their theme—it directly matched with what I planned for the show”.

Moreover, the show's success was attributed to the collaborative efforts of individuals such as Saige Thomas who was the Associate Producer of the show, Alex Isabel who was the Front Stage Coordinator, Izzadora Violet the Backstage Coordinator, Drea Kennedy who was Head of Hair and Makeup, Glam Bridal who worked on Hair and Makeup and Halle Banks and Naomi Stansberry who were doing Makeup and Hair respectively. And lastly, Christy Kioko, who opened the show with a heartwarming and emotional musical tribute. Her vocal performance of “I Was Here” by Beyonce brought tears to attendees.

Beyond the realm of fashion, the event served a noble cause, with all proceeds from the show, including raffle ticket sales, benefiting the Royal T Foundation. Cin was the picture of gratitude when speaking about sponsors who donated to the raffle,

“There was a lot of people who wanted to be apart of this and just give back to the community just like me and I am really grateful for that and I think the winners of the raffle really enjoyed those gifts.” 

Cin's commitment to giving back to the community resonated throughout the evening, underscoring the transformative power of art in fostering positive change.

Amidst the celebration, the show honored the journey of a cherished friend and model, Mubarak Lawal. Cin's show served as a tribute to his memory, symbolizing the resilience and strength of the community in the face of adversity. As the models blessed the runway with grace and poise, their silent tribute spoke volumes, honoring their friend’s legacy and celebrating his vibrant spirit. Cin's gentle reminder that it's okay to feel underscored the evening's theme of rising within—emphasizing the importance of acknowledging and embracing all facets of the human experience. Despite the somber undertones, the show remained true to the power of unity and solidarity, demonstrating that even in moments of sorrow, there is beauty in coming together to honor those we've lost and to celebrate the love and camaraderie that binds us.

Reflecting on her favorite moments, Cin warmly reminisces about the overwhelming outpouring of love and support from her inner circle, which she cherishes deeply. Among these heartfelt gestures were the custom-made flowers crafted by her best friends, a representation of the depth of their bond and the significance of their friendship. Additionally, the custom cake, meticulously prepared to match the baby blue hues of the show's theme, served as a delicious symbol of celebration.

Surrounded by these tokens of affection, Cin found herself enveloped in a sense of warmth and gratitude, as she basked in the love and encouragement of those closest to her. However, it was her daughter's radiant smile that encapsulated the essence of the evening, reminding Cin of the profound impact of her work.

“She loves fashion.” Cin warmly states regarding her daughter's excitement. 

As she looks towards the future, Cin remains committed to her craft and aspirations, embarking on a journey of self-improvement and inspiration. With plans to pursue fashion design school and a renewed focus on family and personal growth, she epitomizes the resilience and determination that define her brand.

“I want to tap into learning more and becoming a better designer. I hope to have a bigger show next year and I hope to keep inspiring people to shoot their shot and go push for their dreams. Right now my focus is to become a better designer and for me that looks like a formal education. I really want to focus on my craft and being a mom.”

We know that  with her determination and passion, Cin will emerge as a formidable presence in every facet of her life.

As Cin Barron evolves as both an artist and an individual, her trajectory serves as a guiding light, demonstrating the immense potential within each of us to carve out our own paths toward success, fulfillment, and rising within.
